Who we are
IDYLL is an independent jewellery studio based in Manchester, United Kingdom. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@idyll.studio.
IDYLL is responsible for deciding how and why customer personal data is used for orders and the operation of this website.
What we collect
When you place an order, we may collect your name, billing and delivery address, email address, telephone number if provided, order details, payment-related information and communications with the studio.
We may also collect technical information needed to operate and secure the website, such as IP address, browser/device information and information generated by essential website cookies.
How we use your information
We use personal data to process and deliver orders, take and reconcile payments, provide order and dispatch updates, respond to enquiries, maintain business and accounting records, prevent fraud and abuse, and operate and improve the website.
Lawful bases
Depending on the purpose, we rely on contractual necessity to fulfil orders, legal obligations to maintain required business records, legitimate interests to operate and secure the studio and website, and consent where consent is required.
Who we share information with
We only share information where necessary to operate IDYLL, fulfil an order or comply with the law. This can include payment providers, website hosting and email providers, delivery/courier services, accounting or professional advisers, and authorities where legally required.
Payment details are processed by the relevant payment provider. IDYLL does not receive or store customers' full card numbers.
International transfers
Some service providers used to operate the website may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, IDYLL will use the transfer mechanism and safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.
How long we keep information
Order information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for order administration, customer service, accounting, tax, legal and dispute-resolution purposes. WooCommerce is configured to retain completed and refunded order records for six years, while pending, failed and cancelled orders are scheduled for cleanup after 30 days.
Where there is no longer a legitimate or legal reason to retain personal data, it will be deleted or anonymised where appropriate.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise a right, contact hello@idyll.studio. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully.
Cookies
IDYLL uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the website, shopping bag, checkout, security and payment process. Other cookies may be used only where the applicable consent requirements have been met.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the website, services or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be published on this page.
